The web launch party was a blast and it went off without a hitch. Well almost. We had a few problems with getting the Internet actually up and running prior to the event - which caused us a few moments of concern since the event was a “web launch party” but other than that, it all went as planned. Our Clandestine Chefs were in good spirits, the food tasted great, and the crowd could hardly get into the gallery!

We received many comments about how the Clandestine Chef would be a great gift idea since we sell gift certificates and many others said that they planned on booking an in-home cooking lesson within the next few weeks. We also booked a bunch of Clandestine Chef lessons that night.

We here at the Clandestine Chef are doing everything we can to get the word out about how we work. After all, people are not used to having professional chefs come to their home and they have the mistaken belief that it is an expensive proposition to do so. In reality, our costs are the same and sometimes even less per-person than going out to a nice restaurant. Plus, we actually teach you how to recreate the smells and tastes that you may remember from your childhood.

Our school is different that than the rest and we can offer customization and service far beyond what the rest of the cooking schools can do. We do this through a variety of ways- we allow you to hand-select your appetizers, entrees, side dishes, and desserts - we allow you to pick a specific time and day for your lesson - and further, we come to you in YOUR KITCHEN!

Whew- I just told you our the secret of our business model. Simple isn’t it? It’s all about personal service, customization, and convenience. So why are you waiting to book an in-home cooking lesson?

Click on Cooking Lessons above and see what you can learn to cook!

Divino Wine & Spirits
1240 South Broadway,
Denver, Colorado

Wine Tastings
Every Saturday
2pm - 6pm

Stop by Divino Wine & Spirits between 2pm and 6pm and try a sampling of their wine and beer of the month and a selection of whites, reds, dessert wine and liqueurs.

Divino Wine & Spirits presents the south-central Denver neighborhoods with a locally owned wine shop that offers customers a range of wine and liquor experiences from around the world, in a retail shop laden with comfortable contemporary flair.

The staff at Divino are certified sommeliers and have many years of restaurant experience. They are passionate about food and wine and can offer knowledge and pairing advice without attitude.

The store offers over 750 wine selections, 60 sparkling wines, 80 dessert wines, 450 liquors, and 70 beers of the world and microbrews (along with a few basics for traditionalists). Each month, Divino offers a special selection of wines for the 10 under $10 rack near the front of the store. Every bottle in the store has been hand picked and tasted to represent the best of a region or grape varietal.

Look up when you walk in and discover the largest Grappa selection in the state.

Additionally, Divino collaborates with area restaurants to present wines that are featured on neighborhood restaurant wine lists. Customers can come to Divino when they want to bring home a wine they tasted at The Village Cork, Pasquinis , Black Pearl, or a sake they sampled at Sushi Den.

Divino Wine & Spirits has an old-world feel, with a modern twist. Handcrafted modern racks line the stores walls and center corridor, displaying wine bottles by geographic region. Atop the racks, frosted Lucite displays illuminate the wine bottles with a gentle glow. In the center of the store, a sofa and chairs provide space for patrons to relax while they choose among the books and magazines that Divino presents, or to sit back while they consider their selections.

The focus is on accessibility, information, and great values from around the world. Divino Wine & Spirits is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Divino is a pet-friendly establishment so bring your pup.

The Clandestine Chef’s mission is to make “life simply delicious” by making it easy and fun for you and your friends to learn how to cook in your own kitchen and on your own schedule. We provide you with an amazingly simple way of designing your in-home, hands-on cooking lesson by allowing you to choose your cuisine, customize your menu, and select when and where you want your cooking experience.

We make it even simpler by bringing all of the ingredients and cookware necessary to teach you how to make a fantastic dinner party or intimate dinner.

While many cooking schools base their lessons and availability times around their chefs’ own interests and schedules, we do just the opposite.

We allow you to tailor your lesson to your own cooking interests and schedule. We also make it convenient for busy people like you by coming to your own home to teach you how to cook. After all, doesn’t it make sense to learn how to cook where YOU will be cooking?

We believe that knowing how to cook is an art that cannot be taught to you by cookbooks alone and that it often gets neglected in our hectic, fast paced world. What many of us have forgotten, however, is how special those far too infrequent dinner parties and home meals are in our lives.

That is why we created a cooking school that is designed to make your life better. Not only are we flexible, we are also surprisingly affordable. After all, cooking is not a luxury, it is a necessity.

We are proud to say that no other cooking school in the world is as fun, convenient, and student-centered as the Clandestine Chef.
